- Theodore Alexander’s Set of 12 Renaissance Revival-style Mahogany Dining seats is majestic and steeped in classical influence, with a dominating and regal presence suitable for refined dining rooms. The solid mahogany frames are superb, with elaborate and illustrious carvings, and the captain’s chairs feature finely scrolled armrests with hand-carved leaf motifs. The twisted barley-twist legs and stretchers provide a dynamic aesthetic of shape and texture that elevates the chairs’ traditional silhouette, while the seats are upholstered in rich, velvety chocolate-toned leather. Double rows of antique brass nailhead trim are notably striking on the chair backs.
